The purpose of Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia is to support the interests of the construction materials industry including extractive industries, cement, concrete and concrete products. This is achieved through maximising the influence of those industries with all levels of Government, regulators and other decision makers; and developing and defending the market for these products
Council is responsible for the direction and governance of Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia and is made up of representatives of Foundation Members and representatives of the Committees of the Association.
The Finance and Policy Committee is a subcommittee of Council and is empowered to consider matters relating to the Association's finances, planning and policy development.
The Government Relations Committee (GRC) considers matters relating to Government policy and any industry driven issues requiring representation to Government. The focus of the GRC is principally on Federal Government issues with the regionally based product committees being responsible for local and State Government relationships however the GRC is available to assist in State government issues if necessary.
The Technical Liaison Committee is the vehicle for liaison between the three industry sectors; cement, concrete and aggregates. The Technical Liaison Committee ensures that communication and co-ordination occurs in the areas of research and knowledge building activities; codes and standards developments; environmental matters and technical publications.
The Market Development Committee (MDC) is charged with monitoring the external environment in which our industry operates and identifying opportunities or threats to grow/defend market share. As such, the MDC performs a vital role in protecting member product interests and seeking new market development opportunities.
The Extractive Industries Committee objective is to coordinate and provide a National focus to the activities of the various state committees. The state committees enable members to manage planning, production, transport, technical, safety, training, health and environment issues related to the manufacture and supply of quarry products.
The Premixed Concrete Committee objective is to coordinate and provide a National focus to the activities of the various state committees. The state committees enable members to manage production, transport, technical, safety, training, health and environment issues related to the manufacture and supply of premixed concrete.
The Cement Committee exists to identify and action issues of importance for the cement industry. This includes best practice sharing, industry skills and standards development, and industry-wide safety, health and environment matters.
